Nice, I have no use either but it looks like a good machine. If he has never used it there may be problems even he does not know about. I would be hard pressed to buy it without even looking at it. Maybe if a guy was familiar with it he could overlook that stuff.
The old stuff always seems to be better built with fewer "features". Likely repairable not being made of plastic.

I own two of these and they are a cool machine. You can get the grinding wheels. The grinder is reversible to allow grinding out of the cutter. The basic machine is cast iron and steel. I don't need a third one. One of mine is the bench version but the pedestal one is superior for productivity. It cost me $100.
I'd seen popular mechanics magazine ads/articles from the late 50's and early 60's and have a copy of the patent writeup. Not sure how long they were made, but they were made to last.
