I have a 1974 XL 902 AM and I am the original owner. Chainsaw was used once per year until 1984. It's been started every year since to keep the fluids flowing. I just replaced a number of parts to keep it new . Runs like a champ and looks great. Wanting to sell it. Wondering what the market would be for this vintage beast of a machine. Appreciate any comments. Starts great ! They don't make them like this one any more.

Welcome to the House of Homelite!
Nice saw, but it is pretty hard to know what it might be worth, that would be between the seller and the buyer. You can check the bay for high prices and Craigslist for what locals think is more reasonable for your area. There really is no other way. Some folks figure a million $ is to little, some think $10 is enough. Sorry but that's about how it is.
If you have a price in mind there might be someone here who is interested. A lot of saws change hands here using PM's, you might get one from your post. Best of luck, hope to see you around here.
You might try posting some pictures, including all sides and the number plate, that would bring more interest as it would give others a better idea of the saw.

Welcome to HOH! The XL-902 is not super common in the US, as it was sold overseas. So as noted, the market on Ebay might drive the price based on availability. The XL-900 series has wild swings in prices, especially depending on condition. A blue XL-901 might fetch up to $200 if the paint is in good original condition while the XL-925 in the same condition might sell for $250-$350. As sweepleader noted, pictures would be of great help and there will be folks here (myself included) that will be interested in your saw.
