Wow, that is awesome. I'm also a newbie, but I didn't have the guts to get into the early saws, besides I collect garden tractors from the later 60 to the late 70's so that the saws I collect as well

Yeah, I fell in love with classic saws after I got my Super XL. Been collecting since. Currently working on restoring an 850 mcculloch and a homelite 770 gs.

Welcome to HOH! When you get a chance, could you post a couple pics of your 770? Not too many of those GS's out there!

Welcome to HOH! When you get a chance, could you post a couple pics of your 770? Not too many of those GS's out there! Thanks for the welcome! Here is a picture for you. Best I can do for now as I have the saw torn apart to rebuild and restore. Unfortunately the saw sat in a very moist area and it seized the piston to the cylinder. Have a parts saw on the way. Excited to get this beast going! Where would be a good place to start a build thread?

Check out the home page for lots of boards on different issues: houseofhomelite.proboards.com/Pick what you think best fits and post away, someone will help if it looks like you need it. And don't worry too much about toes, most everyone here has steel toe shoes.
