360s are the smallest of the "pro" series. It actually started with the 350 introduced in the mid 70s. Came out about the same time along with the 650. My father bought a new 350 in 75 or 76 that we used as our firewood saw for 10-15 years. After that, it was left sitting and my dad replaced it with a Poulan 285 (pretty good small saw too). Deciding to fix up his 350 15 or so years ago is what started my Homelite addiction. Anyway, 350s were out for only a few years and then morphed into the 360. 90+% of parts were the same and after being renamed 360 there were at least 3-4 additional evolution but it kept the 360 name. One big difference between the 350 and 360 was it had a different cylinder. The intake manifold only had 2 bolts on the 350, but 4 were used on the 360s. Never checked to see if port timing was changed between the two, but I doubt it did much because I never noticed any real difference between the two. 350s along with the other pro series was the first designed from the ground up with anti-vibe. Sure there was the Floating Power series and the Vibration Isolated saws, but these were tacking on anti-vibe after the fact. They looked it too! The pro series was cleanly designed with anti-vibe built in. Part of separating the engine from the handles unfortunately also added the intake boots that turn to black mush if you're not careful. They had a side chain tension adjuster that was neat, 350s and early 360s had an adjustable auto oiler, piston ported vs. reeds, solid state ignition... many nice features. People can complain about them being heavy, problems with the rubber boots, etc., but the pro series was a high point for Homelite's engineering.

You're very welcome. You have a beautiful example of a 360 there and got it for a steal too! Can't wait to hear that you've got her running and cutting.
