Hi Welcome to the site. I don't know much about the XL123 but I doubt that the handle for a Super XL would fit. You can find an IPL for your saw here: www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/uploads/3/9/7/9/39792537/homelite_xl-123_chainsaw_ipl_24469.pdfor here: www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/uploads/3/9/7/9/39792537/homelite_xl-123-2_chainsaw_ipl_24469-t__may_1973_.pdfThese will let you find the part numbers for what you need, then you can get the correct parts. Looks like it would depend on when your saw was built. That can be determined often from the UT and Serial Numbers on the saw. If those are not there or the saw is too early, there are other methods that can come close. If you compare numbers from the two IPL's and they are the same then there is no problem with build date. It is possible there are more than two versions of a given saw, the XL12 must have at least a dozen or two. The XL123 is not one of them. I am sure someone who knows more about the XL123 specifically will be along soon to help. Again, welcome to the site. You will find lots of good information here.

They're not the same. The rear handle of the XL-123 also comprised the oil reservoir tank, the SXL does not.

One from a XL76 will work. They have the same part# (A68483). PM Chainsawlady to see if she has one.
