Hey gents,
I just bought 60 bucks worth of parts from Calvin for an old 2 dollar saw. I can't help it, I just like to tinker. Anyway, I replaced the chain gear and cleaned the oil and gunk off the inerds. Is there a way to check the oil lines for clogs? I sprayed brake cleaner in the two fittings going to the oil tank but didn't see it come out. There is another line that loops from the bar to the crank case that I sprayed into.
I see a cover with 3 screws that I assume is the oil pump. Should I open it up and clean it out?
I plan to gap the new plug to .028"
And lastly, the walbro carb rebuild kit has more parts than a small block chevy. Since the saw runs pretty good now I hesitate to tear into it. Or should I just go for it while it is apart?

Leave the carb alone for now. If it idles and accelerates I wouldn't touch it. As far as oil lines being plugged, I don't think that is a common problem. The oil system has check balls to keep things going in the right direction, and that may be why you don't see the results you are expecting. Run the saw with the bar and chain off and see if it pumps oil. Slow speed only.

Great idea, thanks!
Does anyone know the spark plug and stator armature gaps?
If I could find a manual for this saw on-line I wouldn't need to ask so many questions.

Gents, I reassembled my little super2 and ran it slowly without the bar. I could see a trickle of oil so I guess it's pumping. I had to replace all of the oil lines since they were rotted and leaking inside the saw. And the fuel filter had broken and fallen off the line. BTW Ace hardware is awesome, they had three sizes of clear rubber line in stock. Anyway the saw was pretty clogged up so I used brake cleaner on it.
I replaced the clutch sprocket. Does it need oil on the new needle bearing or does it get oil automatically?
Do I need oil on the new air cleaner?
Thanks a lot!

go light on that oil on the filter if you oil it dont over oil it and use good quality gear grease on that bearing that is heat resistance which can be a plus
