My folks had a couple of Bull Pine taken down last week...I went over to the coast to help them with the cleanup. I thought the 750 with a 36" bar was an overkill, but not so much. The biggest was right at 36" at the base. Here's a video of a couple of cuts. I've got the "better" 650 carb on it and the chain was razor sharp. I did not hit the pavement...that comment at the end of the video was my Mom trying to figure out how to turn the camera off!

That have a WB-2 carb offf a 650 or super 650? I wonder why Homelite used a smaller carb on the 750.

Nice, nice to see proper PPE too! Everyone who doesn't should pay attention.

Yep, it was actually a NOS carb I had on the shelf that I was saving for the right project! I have never read or heard any reason why they went to a smaller bore carb on the the 750. All I know is that I like the way the 750 runs with the big carb.

Too cool. Thanks for posting. I have a 650,550,450,360,and 350. I'm not buying any more saws unless it's a 750.

I wonder why Homelite used a smaller carb on the 750. That question without a doubt ranks in the top 5 of my unanswered Homelite mysteries. I've often guessed it had something to do with the EPA, but that's purely speculation. There wasn't another Homelite model that made sense for it to be tuned down to compete with sales. For example the later C-91s had their pyramid reeds replaced with a single, and I've heard they did it to make the "new" XP-1000 stand out more in side-by-side comparison. May not be true, but seemed to make sense. Anyway, point is that at the time the 750 came out and was replacing the Super 650 there wasn't another saw I can think of that needed to look better when cutting next to the 750. Sure would be nice to finally hear the true scoop about this topic. Dan

Always wondered why Homelite raised the height of the covers on the later C series, I think you just solved it.

Do you know when that happened? This was the only thing I found on the C91 reeds Only info I have seen is an IPL that mentions the SN 1854403 as the cutoff. Before this used a pyramid and afterwards had a single. Dan

Love the way it sounds and runs. Can't wait to get mine in the mail to start getting it up and running. I will definitely keep that in mind and find the super 650 carb for it
