Hello guys, I am new to this wonderful place for Homelite owners. I live in Yokohama near Tokyo and either love a couple of Homelite. Lately had a chance to get a Super 1050 here, according to the serial number information you have posted here, it seems that my 1050; showing a pic below, has serial 33120009, so she was manufactured on 1973, 312th day (may be in the middle of November), and was ninth made. You have it correct. How many Homelites are there in Japan? Thank you for reply. We do not see much Homelite here as McCulloch, but in a couple of years lately I watched several Super Mini S, XL12,330,360. Only very rarely XL925 came up, three years ago one with its rear handle broken came up on a local auction, after this I was able to find a decent one last year and she came to sit on my shelf. In this nearly ten years I do not see any C series like C51, C71. Sothis XL-925, a Super Mini S without a chain break, and a masonry saw DM-50 are also sitting in their comfortable sheets here. Chy

Posting another pic of her serial # and the logo of the left side.  The surfix says "AOF", only a presumption to A, might stand for Automatic. What does OF mean!?  |

I have never seen one with that suffix. AO means automatic oiler. The "E" could mean export, but that is a total guess.

In this case it could mean Export as you said rather than Electric, since she does have point module. Chy  |

Many models from this era had an "east coast" and "west coast" version. The west coast usually had larger falling spikes and a full wrap handle, while the east coast had a half-wrap handle and smaller spikes. Maybe Homelite noted this option on the serial number tag?

Fun to know this probability that how this "E" stands for, did noticed there are two versions as West and East coast.
