First Ive seen. Very cool but does seem like it would be cumbersome.

Cool to look at! Not very ergonomic though. There's a reason everything went to top engine design. My first trimmer was an ST-100 in the early 80's. A good running 100 does seem pretty torquey since it's direct drive. I cut my Homelite teeth on lots of 100's. They have their quirks, mainly gas running out of them on the floor and ropes getting pulled out of them. They were good at getting grass wrapped up and ran through the lower crank seal too.
