Here's a few pics of my ST-100 string trimmer...it's odd looking, but it runs good with a ton more torque than today's trimmers. P6120002 by Leon Crouch, on Flickr"] P6120005 by Leon Crouch, on Flickr"]

Now that's a neat trimmer. After seeing this I think I have a couple nos exhausts for these.

Hmm, I have never seen one before. I guess it makes sense when the electric ones have the motor at that cutting end.
Is it hard to hold up?

Not at all, I actually think the balance is great.

Hmmm.. again. 26cc, that must be in the 1 hp area, I guess that would have plenty of power! Well, I guess that my "Homelite" search on local CL will have to be more carefull when it returns string trimmers. :{)

Huh, I was wondering what that fuel cap was on the handle in the top photo above. That would be a lot of fuel for that little motor, eh?

Here's mine. Was a unsold unit from one of the dealers I bought out. Strangely it is missing the string head and air filter assembly. I haven't had a chance to mess with it. These have the fuel tank in the handle. Greg I have a lot of new and used parts for the Homelite trimmers, including the ST-100. Be sure to check what you might need before you head south this summer. chainsawlady

Homelite never offered a blade option on the ST-100 so you would have to home engineer something. The aluminum T adapter that the stock stringhead fits on would not be conducive to installing any kind of blade on it, in my opinion.

I have an ST-80 also, it's probably the leakiest thing I own, and I had a hell of a time getting the carburetor to stop flooding itself out. I eventually figured it out and it actually runs pretty good and has incredible torque. Along with the blade question, I don't think Homelite really did intend for a blade to be installed on one of these. There was a leaf blower attachment, and I have heard rumors that even a tiny "lawn mower deck" thing-ama-jig was even available. Kioritz Echo produced a trimmer that was very similar to the ST-80 and 100, it was called the GT-140. It had a tiny 13cc engine, and it actually did have a blade factory-installed. Maybe somehow if you can find one of those blades, (probably won't be easy because the trimmer itself and parts for it are as rare as hen's teeth) you could maybe come up with something.
