Does anyone know what purpose the 32nd" fuel tube serves on the 925. It must be that small for a reason and wouldn't it restrict gas flow? Is it there to cool the fuel? I'm puzzled by this part but it must be like it is for a reason. Thanks Ted

Welcome oldachonoak. Not sure what you are referring to, the main fuel line to the carb, something else? Can you post a picture?
The standard fuel line is fairly small but I am pretty sure it is more like 3/32" or an eighth. Someone will know.

A small "metal" line? Is this a fuel line or the bar oil discharge line?

I can't tell you the purpose of the metal insert, but cooling is a reasonable guess. The 925 series of saw was know to boil fuel on a hot day, so perhaps the thought was exposing that 3" section of piping to cooler drivecase air would help. For those not familiar with this setup, the hose in the tank has a molded grommet on it and the pipe slips into this grommet. The pipe makes a 90' bend and is clamped to the upper part of the fuel tank and covered by the top of the drivecase cover (bar cover). For the last ~3" to the carb, it transitions back into a rubber hose. I've never measured the ID, but I can't imagine it's less than 1/16"...probably closer to 3/32". Lots of saws were made with this setup up through the end of the 925 run, so fuel starvation isn't an issue.

Thanks Leon I new you would have the answer I just thew that ID measurement out it is a small ID. I got the XL super running and the XL12 it cuts like an animal as soon as I get the 925 running and cleaned up I will send you pics. The fuel Line with the grommet was rotten so I am going to make some thing just to get it running. I have spark which is a good thing. I stumbled across this forum and found a world of information. Thanks for all of the input. Ted

Well I'm glad you "stumbled" in! Good to hear the SXL & XL-12 are running good. When you get the 925 running, if you don't want to go with the original hose setup, PM me. I have a little kit I've put together that is a proper grommet and all hose solution.
