Hi guys,
german bastard is back :-)
Now i want to rebuild the carburetor. I dismounted the carburetor completely for cleaning. Some parts i cleaned with a small ultrasonic bath.
I order a set of spare caskets for the rebuild.
Is it possible to get a manual for a rebuild or repair? Pictures? how can i adjust the carb? (screw 2 turns here other screw 2 turns there) ?
It's a Walbro HDC 48 A
Thanks Andy

I feel the engine should be well oiled during assembly, with straight oil on the rings seals and bearings. That takes care of starting. The only sliding parts in the engine are the rings and piston normally and they get oil from the mix right away. A car engine has lots of sliding parts in the valve gear and even the crank so start up and break in oiling are much more critical in my view.
For fuel mix, I run about 40:1 in everything, using conventional air cooled 2 cycle oil. I don't run my stuff hard but some guys here do and many use 40:1 also.
Someone, Leon I think, just mentioned that he uses wizbang synthetic at 80:1 if memory serves, better wait for him to confirm that. I did not take notes when it was mentioned it so I don't know which thread the comment might be in.

I did not take notes when it was mentioned it so I don't know which thread the comment might be in. If I could find a "wizbang" brand oil, I'd try just to say I did! I do use Amsoil Saber @ 80:1, but I know that's not for everyone. The quality Stihl or Husqvarna oils @ 40:1 won't hurt your Homelite a bit. I agree with Dan, the pre-lube on assembly is the best protection for initial startup. All of my assemblies get a light coat of good 30W oil (piston, cylinder, bearings, etc...). When the smoke clears, you can start tuning!

I created a great amount of butthurt on a Facebook vintage saw forum when I stated that I used 50:1 Stihl Ultra with premium no-ethanol gas on 80 of my runners from 1953 vintage and up. One of the guys came totally unglued.

Yep, some of the Facebook and AS folks are pretty "opinionated", to be polite about it. I am too, but I don't feel the need to force my views on someone else. Some of those guys on other sites refuse to believe or accept anything but their own experience, right or wrong.
