Does anyone know how large of bar you can run on a XL-903? The one I have currently has a 20" bar on it. However I recently had some larger trees cut down and need to cut up the pieces and was looking for a longer bar. Does anyone have a recommendation on brands? What kind of chain do you recommend?

It should work well with up to a 36" bar with full chisel skip chain if the power head has no issues presently. Roller/sprocket nose bar would be best. Ebay would be a place to search for one. Buckle your seatbelt before you check the price. BTW, you don't necessarily have to have a long bar. I dropped and blocked out this tree with my 2071 with a 24" bar.

Hey Dpoc, I agree with Sawnami, a 20" bar (minus the bucking spike) will cut a 40" log. Granted it's a little more work to "two-side" it. Good luck. Steve
