Good day,
The gasket on the oil reservoir on my C-51 deteriorated and I used Perma-tex(can't remember which variety) to make a new gasket but after a few hours of use, it has started leaking again. Any recommendations to repair the leak? Getting NOS gasket is not an option at the moment.
The C-51 is a daily user, so a quick fix would be great.
Thanks!

That is pretty good stuff, never used it on a saw though. I have seen it used on all the flanged joints of a complete V8 engine without problems (not head gaskets). I was surprised upon reading the linked page that Henkel claims it will seal a 0.50" gap. Half and inch is more than I would use it on. (maybe that is a typo???) :{)

After a few days of observation, I concluded the tank was not leaking but that, 1. - I was overfilling the tank so the oil was escaping through the breather, 2. - that I was being sloppy when filling the tank and the spillage seeps through the top plate and resembles a leaking tank. Since not overfilling the tank and being careful not to spill any oil on the saw around the filler spigot, it has stopped 'leaking'.
Another case of operator error being blamed on equipment.
