I have a homelite chainsaw with only a serial no. (2242T020) and Type (50042). Can anyone help me find out what model this is? I need a new set of points for it.

It's a Canadian Model. That type number, are you sure it's correct? Could it be a 50047? Can you post pics?

IF you could put up a couple of pics, that would probably help a lot...there's a lot of knowledge around here!

I'm afraid I can't find any reference to that type number in any of my literature...where is that tag located on the saw? That might help narrow it down.

Canadian models must be only in Canadian literature. Would probably need a pic of the whole saw to know what it is.

I can get some pics on Monday. The tag is located at the back of the saw lower right corner by the lower part of the handle.

Info for the Canadian built Terry saws is a little hard to come by. Hopefully with some additional photos we'll come up with an answer for you. Photos of the points and condenser would be even more helpful because we could probably come up with a replacement even if we don't solve the model mystery. There was pretty much a US version of all the Canadian Homelite-Terry saws. The eight digit serial number should read the same as the US versions making it a August 30, 1972 built saw. We need photos.... Cheers. Steve
