In 1971, after 4 years in the Navy, I went to work in my Dad's hardware store and took over the servicing of Homelite chainsaws. I left the business in 1973 and moved on to other thinks but I'm still fond of the Homelite chainsaw. When I left, the 150, the XL2, the Super XL and XL12, the EZ series, something from the XL100 series maybe the 123, and 920s were on the shelf. I've worked on the ZIP, Wiz, 600s, 700s, all the C's, and some others I can't remember. One day a customer brought in his saw for repair and wanted to trade and old Homelite for some of the work. I didn't know what it was at the time but it was an interesting piece and I allowed him something for it. We had fun with that 20 MCS, my cousin and I put it in the display window with an XL2 next to it. Quite a contrast! That hardware store is closing and my brother gave me the 20 MCS. I love it. It even has holes in the bar to make it lighter and easy to carry! They haven't done much with saws recently but there are some left over part I may bid on at the auction. And all the special tools for bearings and seals for those oldtimers. I got pretty good on those saws. I went to some Homelite factory training and I got to know the guys in the regional office in St. Paul. They were always willing to help.
