because these old saws were made before the invention of unleaded gas-does anyone use a lead additive when mixing the fuel?

that is what I was taught in school to soften valve blows to the seat & not pound out the seats.. also if I remember right the leaded gas left alot of deposits that plus oil deposits made often work of decarbonizing old 2 strokes. I had a couple of 2 stroke lawnmowers & dirt bikes & heads came off to clean alot of buildup right often. personally I would just recomend high octane unleaded gas if your interested here is a link I ran across on racing gas www.ercracingfuels.com/ click on the specs. I think I saw octane ratings as high as 120? Randy
