Hello all, I have a Homelite cut-off saw. It is a PHO and the ut# reads 534. Preceding the 5, is a smaller o with a slash through it and there is another one between the 5&3.
The only chainsaw that I can find a pic of that looks like this is the 88cc model 540.
I was curious if the cut-off saws can be converted to chainsaws. There is an oil tank but the filler cap opening is plugged with, what appears to be, a molded non-removable cover. I also don't see an oil passage in the bar mount area.
I've read that some Stihl's can be converted and some can't, it depends on whether the case has been machined with an oil passage.
So far, I don't see much out there in the way of used parts for the 540.
Thanks for any help
P.S. I know pics are helpful, I'll be working on that.
