Easy enough to remove fuel line and choke rod, but not sure about disconnecting the throttle linkage. Do you need to disassemble the body to remove the trigger assembly, OR, unscrew the carb and take it off the linkage? I have oil coming out of my muffler, too, so new gaskets looks like the order of the day. If you never did a carb, is it a real tough job? Thanks. Jake

Once you unscrew the carb, it will rotate off the linkage. Doing a carb kit is a fairly simple job...just do one half of the carb at a time to avoid mixing anything up.

I take the handle grip off with linkage takes 1 min. It helps to have long screw driver to stick through holes to undo carb bolts.

Where are the bolts / screws that hold in the carb? I noted two capscrews just above the carb in carb compartmnet. Is that them? Thanks. Jake

Take a 5/16 closed end wrench and undo the two bolts that go through the carburetor. when loose you can finish with your fingers. then just pull up on the carb and the throttle rod and once slightly clear of the housing the rod will sit on the housing and rotate the carb. On some models "older" ones had a spacer with four reeds that sometimes come out with the carb. be careful with those. try to keep the reeds and spacer in the saw. do not take the trigger linkage apart.
