Ok, here we go, please bear with me on a first attempt. This saw was new in about 1966 and used for a very small firewood business. It has since seen storm clearing and some trimming work. I stored it where I should not have and the gas tank rotted out. These pictures were taken before I got it running again. Help from this board and the internet put it back in shape for a storm we had a couple of weeks ago. It out cut several newer saws and made me proud. I will finish restoring it in time, it needs the original style tank and a paint job. Can anyone tell me how to get the pics to load in here instead of adding a link to imageshack?

I have started on a quest for a proper gas tank for it, I bought and installed a newer tank that takes the wrong cap. Checking the local Craigslist with a "wanted old Homelite saw for parts" ad. We will see where that leads, I have had 2 replies in 2 days. Still trying to make contact. I am excited to make this saw right again.

Yes to the red tank with wick. I think that is the only way to get the right old style cap and the oil fill on top.
My CL want ad resulted in a cheap XL12 with the wrong tank and totally gummed up with powder saw dust as well as an offer for a cut off saw. I have not seen the pics on that one yet. No correct tank yet. It is early.
