Hey Guys
I got a 330 I'm working on I changed the boot I have spark. So this is whats happening:
If I leave the saw alone for a few hours/day go out and put it on choke and pull it starts runs for 10 seconds or so then stalls. and it wont start again no matter what I do unless I let it sit for a while. When I try to pull start it after it stalls I get fuel coming out of the muffler. I've replaced the oil lines and what looks like the vacuum line from the carb to cylinder the tank line feels fine and so did the pulse hose.
Any Ideas why it will start then stall and dump fuel out the exhaust when trying to restart?
Eric

Sounds like the carburetor needle and seat is leaking. If you have a way to put pressure on the carb fuel inlet, it should hold about 5 PSI of pressure. I'd take the carb apart and see if there is some debris holding the needle off of the seat. It loads up with fuel and dies and then when you let it sit, it evaporates the excess out to allow it to run until it loads up again.

I know this is an old thread but to put this here may help others. These are ZAMA C1S carbs, right. My "new" 3rd 330 was acting as described. I pulled it apart and the PO had totally bent up a non zama needle lever and it did not come close to being correct. Fire up on prime and then flood out. (probably why he quit) I put a new needle and lever and the saw runs just fine, H & L adjusts as you would expect.
