Finally got my first old homelite saw actually running today. First of all this required 2 basket cases to make a complete one. This 7-19C 82cc I was guessing needed less work to get it going. than the 2 basket 707D's. I took the Brown carb off and put the Tillotson HL27 carb on. I had kits for them but not the brown. I did need the kit after all. I can tell it will need new bushes for the throttle shaft. I used the original 21" hard nose bar and decided the 7/16 chain was 80% gone and had a few busted cutters to boot. So I got 72dl of .404 43RC woodland pro chain from bailey's. I found a oregon 10616 rim sprocket(ebay $19) and got a 404-8pin rim. Went outside to try a cut on some 10" red oak and it goes quite well even compairng to my husky 2100CD that I first tried out yesterday. Talk about a loud snarly popping terror machine with no muffler to speak of.

RZX3 I'm certainly not a expert on these machines but ask if you have any questions. My 707D is also in the same family/series of machine. Good luck

I'm feelin' the love here Dave. I love the description "loud snarly popping terror machine". Excellent descriptive! I recently acquired an original EZ which is very similar. I retrofitted it with the .404 sprocket and chain too due to the chain bring worn out and unpopularity of 7/16" chain. This saw also has no muffler to speak of. There is just something about the sound of them isn't there. I got the EZ just as a parts saw for my 7-21 but fell in love with it and now have two "loud snarly popping terror machines".

Woah, I see it is now a year old since my first post. The 707 runs and sounded good with a smooth idle and running manners. So I "borrowed" the (707) HL116 carb and put it on the 7-19C to confirm that the carb IS the problem on the 7-19C...success. I am looking for bushings and shaft for the HL-27B. FWIW even with the little exhaust muffler insert and the perf metal retainer the 707 does not seem to have any significant sound reduction I may have hurt the 7-19C chain when I was cutting roots on the huge oak that we dug up and pushed down with the excavator last spring. It now cuts a curve to the right. At least I have the Peerless grinder set up and running. Now to make it cut straight again. All these saws in this family are very similar but in my researching the IPL's, I have noticed many small evolutionary changes.
