Hi their i am in the uk and new to this so apologies if bad. I own 3 old super xl red saws 2 of which i have just purchased. They run like a dream however when i have stripped the chain bar down to inspect ive found that on both saws the thread has gone in the casing and the stud retainers have broken up. Does any one know where i can source these parts and then i was going to helicoil the casing to accomodate the inserts or is this something i will have to have made. I may also need a few other parts later and not sure best place to look as nothing seems to come up in uk searches it all seems to be us. Has anyone else had to do this and was it succesfull. Many thanks

I have an XL-500 Automatic with a 7 digit serial number and no UT number. I have not be able to find any part number list for it. Some say it is the same as an XL-12 or SXL but the lists for those machines show differences that do not match my 500. (I bought an XL gas tank for it that will fit if the gas line is changed a little, but the gas cap will not fit. The gas cap is apparently worth more than the tank.) Most parts obviously come with a bill for freight so if they don't work I am stuck. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
