I have some questions that I need some opinions on what to do. I am repairing a Super 2 saw I purchased and one of the things I noticed is that neither the gas or oil tanks have check valves (duck bills) in them. This saw is around the early 80's and I had a 1977 Super 2 until 1996 when I had to dispose of it. That saw had check valves in both tanks - specifically they were located in the tank itself very close to the neck where the cap ends. The saw I now have does not have check valves in them nor are there any holes in the tanks that would lend one to believe thats where they go. The IPL for my saw which I just received shows a check valve in the gas tank near the cap exactly as I had in my older saw. The oil tank shows a check valve attached to the oil pressure line (connected to a part called "oil connector) which appears that it is located in the tank right under the cap. My thoughts are to do the following. 1. Drill a hole into the gas tank and insert a check valve as shown in the IPL (IPL is Part Number 24983 Rev 2 / saw model UT - 10617 A). 2. Regarding the oil tank, check closely to see if I actually have a connector on the line and add the check valve into that connector. Any comments would be appreciated and also, am I making the correct assumption that the check valve that is on the oil pressure line goes inside the tank as stated above. Thank you for you help on this. Rich K
