New to the Forum I recently bought a Homelite XL-100 circular saw and I'm looking for a manual to go with it. I think I might also look for a XL-12 chainsaw to go with it as a matching set. Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance John Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

Hi, Just curious, did you find that locally or is it one that was on ebay? Does it run?

Welcome, nice saw, pretty rare, I'm definitely envious.
Looking for an xl-12 to go with it? There are lots of them around. Some nice ones on ebay, but it's more fun to find them where you live. ;D Local prices tend to be lower, and you'll meet some good people.
I know some great folks who have 15 and they're still buying!

I bought the saw off the net but wish it was local. I'm still waiting for it to arrive but it's supposed to be in running condition. There does seem to be plenty of XL-12s around and I'll probably try to find one at the local engine shows. Has anyone seen a generator with this engine on it?

Has anyone seen a generator with this engine on it? You're going to be busy. Homelite used that engine on: XLBC Brush cutter XL-100 and XL-120* Circular Saws XLA115 Generator XLS1 1/2-1 Centrifugal Pump XL-12, Super XL-12*, XL-15 and Super XL-15* Chain Saws * 1 13/16 bore So have fun with your collection ;D

Great! I need another thing to collect like a hole in the head. All ready busy with old Wheel Horse tractors and Ohlsson & Rice powered equipment. The Ol' lady will be thrilled! Although I do love the thrill of the chase, so ... What else did they make?

I'm assuming you mean with that engine. That's all I can think of but.... Is was such a popular engine that other companies made attachments that include: a post hole drill, a winch, and just recently I saw a 1/2" drill attachment on ebay. It didn't get used on demolition saws because it didn't have enough power. Homelite demo saws were made using a 5.0 cu in engine from the XL-900 line. When Homelite was going strong, along with all the chain saws, they had a big lineup of construction equipment and lawn and garden too.

I do mean with the same engine. Thanks for the info! Now I definately would like to collect a few different XL tools since my saw came in today. It didn't have any spark so I had to go in and clean the points but once that was done, she fired right up. This saw is so cool!

Hi Guys, I found one of the A115 generators. It's a military issue, supposedly in unused condition with a case and a canvas cover. Comes with the original tools and instructions. Anyone willing to help with a ballpark idea of what it's worth so I can make an educated offer?

They've been getting crazy $ for those. Way more than I'd spend. I don't think they put out "normal" current either.

Here's a video of the XL-MB Military Blower in action. Just got this the other day, cleaned the points and added some gas. Still needs a carb clean and adjustments but ran pretty good for the first fire up in who knows how long.

It's been a while again since posting so I updated the XL100 pics which were missing from the first post and thought I'd share some new stuff that was added to the XL tool collection Here's a pic of the rare Military blower A Toy chainsaw with the box A better example of the XLS pump The military version of the XL A115 generator And probably the rarest tool next to the Military blower, the XLH-1 Harvester. I'm waiting for the pole and jaw to be shipped so it will soon be complete
