Hey Everyone, I recently picked up a 7-19 on ebay. After a carb rebuild the thing runs like a top, what a hog. Only issue is the sprocket for the chain drive is worn and the chain binds between the ridges. I am going to install a new sprocket; but is there new chain out there in the old Homie size? I count 130 links, and the width of the chain shows 3/16th on the caliper. I'm unsure of the pitch. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks imageshack.us/photo/my-images/23/dscn3584x.jpg/

the stock chain might be a 1/2 inch pitch.
to find out the pitch of a chain. measure 3 rivets on chain on center. dived buy 2. thats your pitch

I have a 7-19C and switched it over to run 404 chain.
Homelite part numbers for .404 pitch sprockets: 7 tooth - 57344, 8 tooth - 57347
I bought a rim sprocket instead of the spur. Not sure on the part numbers for that...I'll investigate.

When you say a 130 links are you counting the drive links?

Sorry for the delay, So here is an image on what I have. I checked the sprocket on the saw and it says 7/16th on it. That has to be correct because I get 7/8" when I measure the rivets the way tribulation told me too.( Thanks for that!) I counted drive links per MCS suggestion on I count 65. (Thanks for the help as always), and the thickness of those links is 1/16th of and inch. I wrote everything i could think of on the paper the chain is sitting on. The only marking on the chain is the number 1 stamped on the links. I don't have a lot of chain experience as you guys already figured out. So any help on replacement chain, or if I should do what Mooney has done.( Thanks for the numbers, always a pleasure to chat with u). Guidance would be great at this point. Thanks fellas

Homelite used 7/16" pitch on many saws. 1/16" = .0625. 7/16 pitch chipper chain made by Oregon in .063 gauge was #62. Used to sell quite a bit of this for the older direct drive saws like the "C" series and the ZIPs.

Awesome info!!! I wish I had half of your knowledge. Now I guess the next question is can I still get it? Or am I bent over a stump here?

A-57344 is the .404 7 tooth clutch drum, A-57347 is the 8 tooth version .404 pitch and A-57363-A is the rim type that you can swap out rims on depending on what pitch chain you are using.

Hi I have a homelite C51 chain saw ( had it since the early 1970's) and it runs great , rebuilt the carb abour 10 years ago and had not used it for some time. I now need a new bar and chain ( lent it to a fellow employee and he used it to take out a stump and trashed the bar and chain). My problem is that I can not find any one who has a listing for this saw or parts. At present it has a 17 Inch bar that is marked 17 HO and is .060 in thick The parts list says that the sprocket is a 7 tooth .404 pitch (open type). I measured 1 5/8 between teeth which make a linc .406 in. so that is the correct pitch on the chain. Also the bars in the lincs are .060 thick and chain lincs are about .195 in thick. Can you refer me to some one who can supply the new bar and chain or please recomend a suitable chain replacement and bar as well. I"m no expert on bars and chains so any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Reg
