no, i got it from a local paper, i've been trying to figure out what paint to use to restore it... it runs great and it has the forestry stack, I believe it also has the original bar on it.
The serial number starts in a 2, so I believe it is a 1972. Did the one on ebay have a wingnut also holding the airbox cover on it?

The 2 and 1972 would only apply if the serial number is 8 digits and I think that paint job and decals are a little older. If it has the stack muffler that too would indicate it is older. Look at the fuel line. Is the fuel line one piece of hose that come out of the top side of the tank or is there a copper line that comes up from behind the crank case with the fuel line connected to it.

Tribulation, the wingnut is not original, the previous owner had turned one on there, the threads aren't even the same. With that said, only the top three threads are effected so when I replace it with an original airbox nut it should thread on fine. Also, I'm in the Woodbury Area, I went to UConn so I have gone to Manchester many a time.
MCS, my mistake, the serial number starts with a 1, and it is only seven digits. The rubber fuel line is connected to a piece of copper tubing also. I bought it from the original owner, he was an older man and seemed honest and he said he bought it in the mid 60's. I could tell he didn't want to see it go, so I think the saw is worth restoring. Does anyone have any recommendations on paints?
