Hi Everyone,
Welcome to Sugar Creek Supply! I wanted to take just a moment to tell you a little about why I started this company and some explanation of what you will see.
My first saw was a Homelite XL-12...I bought it in 1990 for $25. I used that saw up until about 2004....it still runs. I thought it would be nice to have a saw with auto oiling so I looked on ebay (my first time on) and found a Super XL which I bought for $30. After that I started to look and discovered all sorts of different models and makes.....I was hooked! After a couple of years just picking up different Homelites, I decided what I was after....I am collecting everything Homelite made in the 50's, 60's and 70's. After that they started to use a lot of plastic and I am not interested in that. By my best count, that is about 175 unique models.....I currently have 105 of them and am working on several more right now! Along with that, I have a few selected Wrights, Remingtons and Malls. Eventually, I will be totally refurbishing one of every Homelite model. It should be one of the most complete and refurbished Homelite collections in the world. Crazy? Everyone has to have a purpose, right?
Refurbishing old equipment, especially old saws can be very rewarding. The final touch is to recreate the complete original look by recreating the decals. Some decals are not that difficult to recreate, others, are almost impossible.
In my product space, you will see decal sets for a variety of different models. It is my plan to post everything here that Homelite made in the 50's, 60's and 70's....that is what I collect. I also will be posting Remington, Wright and Mall decals. After that, it is up to you the members,....if you have a saw for which you need decals, enter a request in the "SCS Request" sub-forum. If I do not have artwork for what you want, you provide good pictures with a scale so that I can accurately gauge size and I will reproduce the decals for you at the 10% discount I am offering to forum members. After that, I will post the set here and offer it for sale to other members.
When you view the Pricing section for the sets, you will notice that the decals range in price from as little as a dollar to sometimes quite a bit more. This is due to the technology (sometimes more than one!) that I must use to recreate them. You will notice that I have been able to recreate white decal objects and text on a clear background - you will no longer need to try and match the color on your decal to the color on your saw! The color of your saw will now show through around the object and the text!
You will also notice that I am offering either full sets or individual decals. Some members may be able to make some of the decals. I will point out, on even the simple decals, like the instruction decals, I have been very meticulous in making sure that it is the original size and that the words are spaced exactly like the original. I want to provide as close to original for you as I can!
You will also notice that some decals have two pricing associated with a part number, one for untrimmed and one for trimmed. These are decals that will require a precision trim before you apply them. You can buy the untrimmed and trim it yourself, or, for a small fee, I will precision trim it for you. I would suggest that you let me do the cutting,....that way, if I make a mistake, I pay, not you.
My decals are guaranteed for satisfaction,...you must be pleased. If you are not, just return them in the condition in which they were sent and I will refund the cost of decals.
That's it for now...there will be more here than just decals.....I plan on providing things that are very hard to impossible to get.....forward me your suggestions and I will see what I can do!
Talk to you soon!
Joe
