Basically a super xl body with a xl-12 jug piston. (54.2 cc's) Automatic oiler. -New tighter fitting piston rings -Polished piston head -Smaller base gasket -New high heat paint -New 16inch sprocket nose bar and chain -New larger fuel line -Carb gaskets rebuild -Cleaned out oil pump -New spark plug -and some little extras Wards exhaust tip with sxl muffler mount Double spikes Modern air filter and custom decals Rubberized painted handle bar and 12volt running light Rubberized painted gas tank bottom for added protection Lighter flywheel, ignition chip, painted screen

Where did you get the exhaust deflecter, it looks cool. Also, "lighter flywheel" Is it from a different homelite? Or was it machined? Jim

the fly wheel came off the xl-12's in the later 70s and 80s. it still has the same magnet placement but they shave off more metal and cut down the number of fins.
exhaust tip came off a really old ward chainsaw i think form 1950's. it was only 3 bucks of ebay. I retro fitted it to the xl-12 muffler base.
