Is there any chance you have the ability to have "restricted access" threads or locations? Also is there any interest to have a forum section expanded to other brands..understand this is HoH..but maybe have a thread "Other" saws and then sub area's for brands should they be requested...just a question....

Proboards, our host, doesn't have a lot of options. Board postings can be restricted to everyone, registered members, or staff and replies are similar. There is nothing saying that other brands can't be discussed; that type of post is usually placed in off topic. I've been trying to understand how our members use the board and which method they used to "see what's going on." There are two ways other than just clicking and opening a board: 1) the 20 most recent posting, and 2) New Topic which appaears at the top of the home page - this lists topics that have recent postings. The board can have topics that cannot be replied to and I think this may be the best way to have some of the forums set up. I'm starting to believe that there should only be one or two forums that are discussion forums. Everything else, like the tutorial and tips, do not need replies. If all chatting was done in this manner, we would only have one or two board to scan. weimidog, what exactly are you referring to in restricted access? Anyone else have any suggestions for the board?

Our focus should remain Homelites. I think that other brands like McCullochs can be used here for comparisons.
