Here it is back together Here's the only leftover part: Here's the 4x4 I cut: Now the bad part. Had a HARD time getting it to start. Being overanxious I forgot that I hadn't changed the spark plug. It's on the list. Is ChampionDJ7Y correct? That's what the great manual I got from Navymac in the for sale section says. 200 pages! A great deal. Also the book says gas mixture is 16:1 if I'm not using Homelite brand 2 stroke oil? It actually says to use what the container makes. A little vague if you ask me. My homelite oil mix is the kind with the bulb at the top that fills as you squeeze the container and it's a 40:1 mix. 2.6 onces to the gallon. I went with experience. 32:1 with 91 octane. I had gas spitting out the hole in the gas cap. It eventually quit. How do I tell if the oiler is working? I don't want it dripping off the chain do I? When I looked at the chain after about 15 minutes of idling/running and cutting it looks like the linkage is coated but not the actual cutting blades. The real test I suppose will be tomorrow when my shoulder quits throbbing and I see if it will start. Thanks much for all the help in getting this running. It was an enjoyable operation, and not as bad as I thought but I don't have much experience with how other saws/ repairs would be. Just the EZ-6 that I'm awaiting parts for KW

Day two update. I choked the saw and it started on the fourth pull. That's not to bad. No leak from the gas cap. Still not sure if it's normal, but the saw chain spins while it's idling. I have the chain on the bar that when I pull at the bottom of the bar the chain just stays in the track. Parts came for the EZ today

gOOD jOB GETTING HER RUNNING! OOPS, Caps loc....
Most likely your idle screw is set two high or the L needle needs some tweeking to bring the idle down. This will allow the chain to rest while idling. Also, I think that errant part goes in the bottom of the case to cover one of the access holes for a bolt. .
