Neither of my 330's have dogs(bumpers) but they rarely cut wood any larger than 18" in diameter. I think the saw looks better w/dogs and they probably help in larger wood but it is personal preference.

You can put an O-ring on your comp tester, works better than the crush washer as you now only need to hand tighten it. Hold the throttle wide open and pull untill the needle stops climbing or you feel weak. ;D You can splash some mix in the cyl to wet the rings if its dry or has been sitting for a while. Looks like a good candidate for a muffler mod. BTW, good to see you have some Fire Extinguishers in your garage. Everyone should have a few through out the house. . 2 weeks ago, while pushing brush, my son drove my tractor into a ravine that had burning brush in it. Had it not been for a fire extinguisher(in my truck) I would have lost the tractor instead of just a front tire. Good advice about the fire extinguisher

Glad to hear it was just a tire too. And not WAY WORSE!. Learned from a mechanic a long time ago. If you work around gas, have an extinguisher handy. Pretty cheap insurance. I think the reason my air cover is "sloppy" is because I don't have any foam gasket. I see people selling them on e-bay. KW

That foam gasket is cheesy and deteriorates rather quickly but it does help keep the big stuff out of the airbox. I recommend you replace it and get a spare should you intend on keeping the saw.
