Can anyone decipher mfg dates from model 105253 4 91230245 1979, 105253 48191040, 10045A 3 10840023 1981, want to know what year they were made--have 6 of these running-thanks Bill The second 105253 with serial 48191040 - is this only an 8 digit serial? I would expect it to be 9 digits. If it is really 8 digits then it is a 1974.

So, looks like you have a '78 '79 '81
'78 built on the 191st day of the year, 140th unit produced that day '79 built on the 123rd day 245th unit '81 built on the 84th day 23rd unit
PS I sent you a PM on the 24" bar

Bill, Is that the whole ser. no.? C would be 1981, but there should be a number in front of it. Somewhere, I think it was MCS, posted the Service Bulletin that had the serial explanation. But it don't cover Canadian built saws or 7 digit serials.
PS: Sent the M/O for the 24" bar yesterday. Thanks Al
