Posting pictures is common on the forum but until recently, I don't recall seeing any attachments. In fact, I didn't even realize it was available. Image Shack only lets us place .jpg files on their site but the forum will let us attach any file regardless of the file extension. The only restriction is size - we are limited to 1meg. There is one oddity in that you can not preview a post once an attachment has been made. You will have to reattach the file before posting. I see a couple of possibilities for using this: I'm attaching an IPL for the 925 as a test. Attachments:

Good idea posting this.
Proboards announced this last week and is defiantly a welcome change. Previously we were allowed 40mb with a 256KB limit on size. Anything more than this and I had to pay $2 per month per 100mb.
Change is good!

was going to start a new thread here but saw this one and thought this would be a good place to ask. I have a lot of homey lit sitting in photo bucket already and wonder if you could add a sub forum to post them in. Homelite literature -adds, brochures posters, ect. added these 2 new ones today

It would be easy to add a separate board specifically for pictures and old adds. All you would need is the URL just like using Image Shack. Is that what you have in mind? Craig

all my images are already hosted on photo bucket, so wont take any space on this site.
I was just looking for a designated area to dump them in where they could be found easy.
I still have many more vintage homelite ads and spec sheets I have not scanned yet too

I made a small change to the forum today. There was a request to have a place for pictures so I merged the bar and chain topic just for space conservation on the home page and then added a Picture only board. I disable replies to this board - it is just for viewing. As always, you can PM the author. Craig

looks good Craig. posting was still disabled when I looked at it but as soon as its open I will start laying up the brochures.
went through a box today and found the xl12 and buzz brushcutters brochures from 63-64 and the xl12 pump too.
the dealer I cleaned out saved everything.
its fun to open one anouncing the new xl12 coming out soon. these are the newsleters with brochures sent to the dealers as the saws were coming out.

off to a slow start on the ad thread. just scanned some for the sixtys section today.
I have dozens I need to pull already hosted and many more I need to scan.
The shop I cleaned out sold homelites in late fiftys till stihl and husky shut down the pro saw class in the 80's.
the old guy never threw anything away. I have many of the letters to dealers with spec sheets when the models were released.
lots of hype when the xl12 came out. radio and tv and contests.
homelite wanted to put a saw in every garage with that new model.
I think they almost did too ;D
Homelite was always into good marketing though. I have a big book from around 57 showing all the promo items they used.
shirts, clocks, hats signs, keychains, lighters and many many more items used to promote sales
this is going to take a while, lots of wall posters to take pics of too.
