Picked up a 330 that runs fine but doesn't seem to oil at all. Picked up a pump diaphragm and tried to prime pump but see no oil exiting outlet hole. I've heard that the oiler isn't that good but wonder what any of you have done to get pump to oil. Am concerned about running saw for fear of burning bar. Any thoughts? Thanks. Bob

Did you replace the diaphram ? I had your exact problem not long ago and discovered the problem was not with the diaphram, but the vacumn hose under the pump was kinked and would not provide the pump enough crankcase vacumn to operate the pump. A new piece of hose, cut to the correct length solved the problem. You may also want to check the oil discharge line that runs from the pump to the bar to see if it is clogged. Good luck and let us know how your repair comes out.

Ill add to that by saying you might need to thin your bar oil some for that saw to pump correctly. I usually thin mine by 1/4 with Diesel fuel.

I am curious about this practice(my granddad did it w/ kerosene) as I was recently told that diluting the chain oil with diesel diluted the tackifiers in chain oil and causes the oil to sling off the chain prematurely. Do you thin the chain in all your saws or just the saws(330s) that don't have particularly strong pumps ?

Just use light motor oil like 5w20. It seems to work okay. I don't think the tacky oil was around when that saw was built..
