Sorry for the double posting. I originally posted this in the wrong forum area (newbie!). This is a follow up to my earlier "Little Red oiling problem" thread. Thanks for the PDF showing the parts details and names. I've poked around some more and find that if I blow thru the "tank out" port attachment on the saw, while at the same time pushing against the oil pump check valve with a piece of wire pushed thru the plunger opening hole, I get air out of the "final out" port opposite the pump. This is starting to make sense. However, when I loosely place the pump diaphram and plunger assembly back in place and push on the middle of the diaphram, forcing the plunger in, I get nothing. I can feel that the plunger is not extending far enough to push the check valve open. It bottoms out without opening the check valve. Am I missing a part that goes between the plunger and the check valve? I feel like I'm getting closer to solving this, at any rate. Thanks.

Sorry for dropping the ball on this, just hit me with a rock and Ill come around...... If your IPL is showing you the parts that you have and nothing is missing you can probably put her back together and see what happens. Honestly I was hoping someone with more experiance with this perticular oil system would chime in and see something I cant, but it hasent happened. I can understand what your saying about the plunger, but without it in my hands I couldnt tell if it was right or wrong.

Basically, does the diaphram plunger itself contact the check valve, or, once oil is in the pump shaft housing, does the oil pressure open the check valve? This might explain why the shaft doesn't contact the check valve when I loosly assemble the parts.

I know it's been a while since you posted this but FWIW, I have a little Homie with the same setup and had problems with it. Oil pressure opens the check valve the plunger does'nt contact it.
My check valve was stuck closed, I straightened out a paper clip and gently pushed it open (you should be able to feel spring pressure against it)while spraying carb cleaner in from the bottom side. It works like a charm now, so you might try that. Matt
