A quick question: what is the value of a used but good condition 130 VI? I actually have the opportunity to get three Homelites for $150CDN (all roughly the same horsepower, about 50cc, from what I understand) all in working order, though well used. Two of them have 20" bars. It sounds like a steal to me...but I'm no expert (obviously!) They're the three on the left, in case anyone was wondering!

Not even a guess? (Or is this perhaps in the wrong area?)

No, I'm looking at buying them and want to know if $150 is a fair price. They seem to be fair sized and working, but I just don't know enough about them to really make an intelligent decision.

My opinion, yes they are worth it if the bar, chain, and sprocket are good. I'm guessing a little but I believe these saws would be the equivalent of the US VI-123 and the XL-123. Plenty of engine to support a 20" bar and they should have auto oiling. I have a VI-123 and it is a nice saw to work with. Are these equipped with rim sprockets or spur sprockets?

Rim or spur sprockets? Not a clue - I'm also buying them long distance, with my aunt picking them up for me in Ottawa and then driving them down here when she visits next. I've just not seen many like this around here.

Hey kvanlann
If you are in southwestern Ontario, super XL130and XL76 are easy to find. Just check out some farm auction sales or bug your favourite small engine guy for old non working saws.
I never heard of a 130VI. I have the super XL 130 and XL 76. The saw on the far left looks like a super XL 130, the middle looks like an XL76 and the right saw looks like a super XL 130 but has a different top handle than mine. See if you can get any side view photos, that should clarify things. If they are in running shape or need only minor work $50 per saw is about right.

Hey wp, theres some kinda funky av setup going on on the top handle of that far right saw. Look there at the base where it attaches to the saw...looks like the mount they used on those funky super mini vi spinoffs of the super ez. Maybe that saw is something yet to be seen on this forum.
Oh and my 2 cents, I'd buy those puppies...they look fairly clean all three of them and they'd at least provide some good experience getting them all up and running properly, heck if you don't want em after you get them going dump them on ebay they'll fetch better than 50 bucks a piece for sure, maybe in the 80-100 dollar range depending on there actual condition. That and we all here at the house would love to help guide you through the re-vitalization process ;D as this place has been a bit slow lately... need to start my 550 rebuild tutorial here soon as I get the cylinder off to the re-platers...haha

You know, I'm looking forward to one of them (but only one of them!) having some issues so that I have some practice repairing them. My aunt is going to contact the guy and pick them up for me, then bring them down when she comes to visit. Can't wait!
I can't wait to get my hands dirty!

Good evening, guys! Had a little time tonight and read a few posts,...saw this one on the VI-130. The correct answer is, yes, it exists. Here are a couple of pics of mine. It is definitely a Homelite Terry,....the instructions on top even have French! Talk to you soon! Joe Attachments:
