Earlier this spring I inherited a Super XL Automatic from my dad's estate, and I would like to get it running again. It is from the early 1970's (I have a picture of me posing with it as a child in about 1974), the serial no. is AO12841720.
I cleaned it up and tried starting it but no spark. After doing some testing I've narrowed it down to the coil -primary resistance is 1.3 but secondary is n/a. It is a Wico/prestolite points ignition, the mounting plate is #X14170D and the coil appears to be pressed on using four studs (two on each arm). Is there a replacement coil available for this? Everything I look up online has only one arm and one mounting hole which does not appear to line up.
I'd like to replace the points and condenser too, if they are still available, though these points appear to be in good shape.
