Hi I just got this Xl-500 well I think because the model # is faded away all I see is XL-_00 cant make the other number but the crank is 3 color handle green and chain case is green as well it is its serial 2137727. Would this saw be built on 01 August but of what year? And would this be an XL-500?

Unfortunately a 7 digit serial number cannot be exact date coded. What we have is Joyce Wilson's (Chainsaw lady) sales records which will get us close. Your saw would have been built mid 1966. The serial number also doesn't tell the model but is most likely a xl-500 if you're seeing the 00. We'd like to see pictures!

The ID tag is definitely a Terry Industries XL-500 .. compared to known examples.
Pics of the rest of the saw, and maybe a bore measurement ( a to b - a to c = d ) , to confirm an XL-500.
