I would be cheating because you told me you were getting it. I will say the A/F base is a dead giveaway. Can you tell me if the vent plug is anything special, or would I be OK tapping the hole for an allen-headed plug?

Well I am really not sure what it is. That is why I am asking opinions. As with most Homelite saws there are so many models that are so close together it is tough deciding what they are.

Its a 900G. Ignition switch location changed on the 909, 990, 995 and 9-26 used the funky round cartidge airfilter, the base on the saw is for the more "small engine like" filter, like is found on the later saws.
