My problem, I have a homelite chainsaw model #UT10516 it is 33CC. it is old, has been sitting in shed many years, did a diagnosis, no spark. I decided to get a new carb, new plug, new coil and new fuel lines and get to work. everything is finished, it looks brand new has compression and new fuel. I cleaned the tank out real good, all the lines had rotted. and the result is NO SPARK, I even put the old coil back on still, NO SPARK. What are the chances of both the old and new coil to be bad? SLIM I THINK I rechecked all the grounds, cleaned them again, they are all nice and shiny but still No Spark.
What to do I have a few more question but I will hold them till I have spark?

It could be your switch is bad.Try disconnecting the lead from either the switch or the coil.Wrap some electrical tape on the end of the lead,or remove the lead entirely.

I did that, I completely isolated the coil from any wires, leaving only the spark plug wire. I have a 10 thousands gap, coil to flywheel magnets. Watching some of the many of the You Tube video's they all show a big fat blue spark doing the coil tests, Mine is so weak I can barely see it if at all What is the actual name of my saw all I can find about it is the model number UT10516 and 33cc on the starter cover Side question, Does this saw have an oil pump for the chain or is it a pressurized oil tank setup. I removed the clutch and there was nothing there behind it.

Some of the early models had a points ignition. Look for a wire going under the flywheel. If yours does, you will need to pull the flywheel and clean the points. No oil allowed in there. Gap them at .015"

No There is no wire going uner the flywheel. It is fairly new the date of manufacture on the saw label is 6/30/08

Sometimes you just can't see the spark. looking up the model it seems to be a very recent saw, electronic ignition. anyways I hope you get it running

OK I got some spark, if I spin the flywheel with a drill motor I get a nice fat blue spark at a hi RPM but at the speed whkch I can pull the starter cord nothing at all. AT least I have something.

Have you tried a new spark plug? Make sure your using the correct one ngk or champion, also check the connection in the plug wire boot, sometimes the little spur that goes into the wire comes loose or separates & doesnt get a good connection.
