I can not get the bar oiler to work. I have tried several things with no luck. It's the older type without the diaphragm. Any suggestions would be appreciated...thanks

Is the duckbill present in the oil tank?

Most of the time they are orange or black and you should see it on the upper hose.

The little white piece sounds like the plastic connector that the later XL's used. It pushed into the pressure line and the duckbill went on the other end of it.
Does this saw have an oiler adjustment knob on the right side of the handle above the bar mount?

Unfortunately, those are the worst. I used to fight those things a lot trying to get them to work. I can't recall just what I did as it was decades ago but seems like I took the adjustment valve apart and modified it somehow. You could just try rerouting the hose around it as a test to see if you can get it to work without the valve.
Then again, if your duckbill was gone, you might just replace it and get lucky.
