I have an old ( 1968-ish ) Homelite Super XL12 Automatic ( blue ) Type 10092 Serial no. 01310084 made by Terry Industries in Canada. The saw is still going strong, and I don’t want to throw it away.
I need a sprocket to replace the existing one : Homelite A58745 spur sprocket : 8 teeth : 3/8” It’s a bit like searching for the Holy Grail . . . . Totally no joy in UK, or from e-bay, including US dealers . . . .
Approx measurements of sprocket assembly as follows : Actual spindle on saw is 3/8” with a floating sleeve taking it up to 1/2” ( that’s a guess, I forgot to measure the sleeve before re-assembly ) o/d of bearing is 11/16” (17.4mm ) marked Torrington B-88 i/d of clutch drum is 3 1/8” ( 79mm )
I’ve found a couple of sprockets on-line in UK which look like they may fit this saw, but they only have 7 teeth and not all dimensions listed. Any suggestions / equivalent part no’s or any other information gratefully received.

The 7 tooth sprocket in 3/8 pitch was the standard setup for the XL-12 and Super XL-12. My Super XL-12 IPL doesn't list A58745. Do you really need an 8 tooth sprocket? I have a 7 tooth sprocket that has a pressed in bearing that is 1/2" / 13mm ID and the drum is 3 1/8" / 79 mm ID. The drum is 18mm thick. The Homelite part number is A-95459. Let's see if CSL (Joyce) picks up on this...

Let's see if CSL (Joyce) picks up on this... I'm not familiar with the numbers Homelite used in canada, but would like to give you a little information about our starting out on the XL-12. In August 1963 our sales rep out of Cincinnati, Fats Herbert brought a proto-type saw of the XL-12 to show the dealers. My husband was so impressed, that he told Fats he would take 50 if delivered by October lst. Then deduct one every day after that until they were available to pick up. On October 4th the branch called and said they had the saws. As agreed to we took 47 of the new saws. Sold the first one Nov. 15, 1963 and the rest is history. That first shipment all began with the serial number 150-------. I still have one in our collection of that group. They had the gas tank with the big filter and I think I changed almost all of them when they came out with the plate with the fuel line with the filter attached.. I don't remember a blue XL-12 that was automatic (oiler). I do have a few sprockets that fit this smaller crankshaft. One is a generic with B-88 bearing. I think you can use the 95459 with 65746 - race and 64129 - bearing. If you can't find any, I think I can send you the right one. Do you put gas in the tank by the rear handle instead of up front by the bar? chain saw lady

Thanks, MCS and chainsawlady. Nearest I can find online here in UK is a couple to replace A95459 ( sprocket and bearing complete ), which I think may fit. I'll wait a bit to see if you or anyone else has any more ideas . . . .
This saw's a good old dog and I prefer it to my others

Just in case anyone else has got one of these Canadian saws : turns out the Homelite part no is A 95620 ( sprocket and bearing complete ), which I finally got from Roy Thomson in Scotland ( have used him before for chain for another saw ). I think the US-made saws must have a larger diameter crankshaft. Hope this helps someone. Thanks !
