Hello good folks
Like the title says I am at my wits end... I know to step away and what not when getting frustrated but this is something "I've stepped away from" several times now all ending with the same result.
Now is there some magical trick or prayer thats needed when mounting a carb? Specifically I am working on a VI955 that I have had the carb on & off now 4 times in a row. Every single time, if any carb cleaner or brake cleaner is sprayed anywhere close to where the two surfaces meet (carb & intake block) the saw will stall out.
Now I've used an OEM gasket, a Tillotson mounting gasket, a generic universal one, and even cardboard. All with the same exact result. Even went to using coppercoat on the gasket just to try.
Now I know some of you are going to say cracked intake block and that I am either tightening it too much or not enough but I have checked all of these and they are all correct and torqued to spec. I say this as this current moment I have multiple saws all doing the same exact thing and I for the life of me CANNOT GET THE DAMN CARB TO SEAL TO THE SAW.
I'm to the point of sending the saws off to someone else or just letting them run and deal with a saw that can never hold a tune or idle correctly.
Can someone else show me a video of them doing the same test so that I can see if it's even possible for a saw to not stall out when having spray by the carb mount. Like I know that yeah if you spray a ton its going to displace the air around the carb and it will cut out some but I'm talking about a little half second spray right where the two meet with the end of the nozzle tube being right on the carb. Yes I understand this can happen to an extent with gaps in the throttle shaft or whatever but I'm not even spraying by that at all.
For real if this continues, I'm afraid I won't even want collect anymore as they will all just be non usable decorations then and that's not why I want them.
