I need a replacement for my Super XL 2 bolt muffler. Anything that fits properly and works will do. It's not a collectable. It's a tool.

A quick question.... Do you intend to write you own a "XL Super 2"? Because a Super XL 2 does not exist. Better yet, what is the UT# and serial # on the tag/plate. If no tag, post a picture. Once the actual model is determined go to the following site www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/parts-diagrams.html and look up the IPL (Illustrated Parts List) for the correct saw. Once you determine the correct part number go www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/store/c45/Homelite_Chainsaw.htmlout and select the correct saw model and at the search line type in the part #. Else, go to eBay and type in "Homelite (and then the part #)" and you should find a vendor willing to sell the part/screw. Please note, most IPL's will actually state the screw size(e.g. 2-1/4" X 10-32) which you may be able to find at a local hardware store for about 1/4 the price of an eBay original Homelite part. Keep in mind, that if the hardware store does not have the exact length in stock.... buy a longer one and cut it down to the correct length making sure the bottom of the screw is square and smooth after you cut it ( i.e. file down the rough edges) or you could mess up the tapped threads inside the engine block (i.e. not good). Hope this helps. Charlie

I took it as the OP was looking for an older style 2 bolt muffler for a Super XL. I'm sure I could probably come up with something if you haven't found anything yet.
