I am ready to reassemble my XL( 1977)is there a problem with using fuel line for oil line? The crankcase line IS the original oil line with the duckbill, but the line from the pump to the tank ,I replaced with fuel line ,it fits tight through the tank for a seal, and of course is fuel line rated for petroleum products, but I am thinking a more rubbery product or maybe even Tygon might give a better seal under pressure while running,am I right or will fuel line seal sufficiently? This is 1/8” ID. Maxpower line,I couldn’t find tygon in 1/8” ID.

The rubber line will be fine. For future reference the Tygon equivalent is 3/32" X 3/16". The tank shouldn't build enough pressure to cause any leakage around the hose.

Leon, thanks very much, appreciate the info, how much pressure does the system generally operate at?

The good tygon will last a long time when used as oil line. If you piddle with chainsaws/weedeaters very much you can find a kit of different sizes tygon on Amazon priced very reasonable. Some of the weedeaters lines are metric it seems and if a plastic tank and you have a line too small and another little too large just select a drill bit and slightly ream the plastic hole for the tight friction fit size of tygon you have in stock I do not know the oil line pressures but no worry about hi pressure. try to keep the lines away from lots of heat.
