Yup, I looked back on the IPLs of the the big frame XLs and every one starting with the XL-700 used that picture. IPL P# 24831 Rev 3 finally got a good picture of the 925 on the cover. I would guess Homelite never expected any one to be so picky about their art work

When were blue and red SXL's made? I got a junker with the last load of saws. No unit# just a serial #. CSW

What color is that saw Jim? Im gonna guess blue cause it sounds to me like you've got a super xl-12 (super xl motor without the auto oiler).

The Super XL-12 uses the same crankcase as the XL-12 and has the oil reservoir in the same place too. If the oil filler is on top then it is a Super XL - no automatic. The Super XL has a spacer on the crankshaft to take up the space of the oil pump worm gear.
