Just picked up a really nice powersaw and it runs really good as far as starting and idling. It runs way too rich at WOT and my saw only has a low needle. 4strokes at WOT and in the cut. As you can imagine this really cuts the power. Is there something i can do to my carb to lessen the high fuel or do i need to change carbs to a fully adjustable one?

Welcome to HOH! Unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done for that carb...as you mentioned, you'll have to change out to a fully adjustable carb to fine tune your saw.

While I agree with Leon, there were many of these that just did not perform well and carb changeout was about the only effective solution, before you go to all that trouble and cost check to make sure the air filter isn't all gunked over. Also make sure the throttle is opening wide open and the choke is opening completely.
These are probably longshots but the throttle linkages do get pretty bent up at times when guys don't know how to remove the engine from the case and reinstall correctly.
Of course, you'll want the LO carb adjustment running as lean as you can get away with.

I’m not sure if one is available but a hotter spark plug might help, and a wider gap makes a hotter spark but I ain’t no real mechanic and might not take my own advice! The only thing I was really trained at was shoeing horses, and shooting firearms.but…it’s a shot in the dark!lol!..Sorry ,I could resist.
