I thought this little saw would be a nice addition to my collection.I spent a little more on it than I normally would for a saw this size, but I don't see the 180s come up that often,if at all.It has decent compression & spark.Someone has replaced the oil pressure line & I'm not seeing a duck bill or metal tube. The line is sticking in the tank too far & pointing downward.I'll pull it apart tomorrow & see what's up.

Those didn't have the metal tube, they had the plastic style connector for the duckbill.

Thanks Greg! Good thing I ordered a few of 'em.
I thought I'd get into the saw today, but I was limited as to what I could do.It seems that the 180 had to be the odd ball.It has a Walbro WAT24 carb on it,which I have no rebuild kit for.All the other saws in the same class run pressure off the crankcase to the oil tank, not this odd ball,it runs pressure off the carb to the oil tank.It also has an odd ball throttle linkage rod.I had to pull the on/off switch out to get the engine out of it's case.Something else unique to this saw is the carb hold down screws are torx head screws. All these subtle differences, are they due to it being made at the Terry plant?

Does it run pressure off the carb or does it have a diaphragm pump piggybacked off the carb? The small saws that used to all be XL or Super 2, all got pretty goofy when they revamped them. Seems like that happened around 1990, give or take. Certainly appeared like they were just trying to make them cheaper, and they were.

There's no piggy back pump,it runs directly off the carb.I have a Super2 that I took apart a few yrs.ago that has that pump,so I know what you're talkling about.

I don't know much about those. Seemed like the few of the newer styles we sold, we had to fiddle with plenty more than the old style XL/S2.
