Over the past 16 months I've purchased 5 aftermarket ignition module for the XL & Super 2 saws & have just had one that's dead right out of the box.The other 4 were good, but something I noticed was the 4 good modules were black on the backside where the plug wire comes out & the bad module was white. The first 2 modules I bought last fall came from China directly,& the next 2 modules were shipped from here in the U.S.The last module was shipped from here in the U.S.as well.Originally Homelite had a price of over $60 for a replacement module, but now they can be bought for $11-$12.I think all the modules are made in China or some other Asian country now.I'd just like to know how reliable these modules are.

You’re on the east coast…you may can find some of those foreign modules floating in the Atlantic after that balloon popped :-o

I've seen/heard of quite a few failures...if they are the only option, then a guy can get replacements cheap enough. I'd honestly run a good used OEM one first if I had it available.
